Glimepiride is most commonly used to treat diabetes by controlling blood sugar levels.
Glimepiride is usually taken with the first meal of the day with a full glass of water. Follow your doctor’s instructions and any medication instructions carefully.
Do not use glimepiride if you are allergic or are in diabetic ketoacidosis. An overdose may cause life-threatening hypoglycemia. Get medical attention if you react with pale/yellow skin, dark urine, fever, confusion, weakness, or a severe skin reaction.
Common side effects include: headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, flu symptoms.
