Alfuzosin is an alpha-adrenergic used to help relax prostate and bladder neck muscles to make urinating easier for men.

Alfuzosin is used to improve urination in males with benign prostatic hyperplasia, but may have other uses.

Usually, standard dose for adults with benign prostatic hyperplasia extended-release tablet is 10 mg orally daily.

Usually, alfuzosin is taken once daily after the same meal. Do not take this medication on an empty stomach.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet. Swallow it whole.

Store at room temperature, away from heat, light, and moisture.

If you miss a dose, take the missed dose right away, but skip it if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at once.

Inform your doctor of any other medications, especially:

• Nitrate medication
• Erectile dysfunction medication
• Antibiotics
• Antifungal medication
• Antiviral medication for Hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS
• Medications similar to alfuzosin

• Family history of long QT syndrome, or if you have long QT syndrome

• If youp lan on cataract surgery, inform your surgeon that you are taking alfuzosin
• Alfuzosin is not for women or those younger than 18
• Effects of alfuzosin on breastfeeding and pregnant women are unknown
