Xyzal Oral Solution is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and skin hives. It is an antihistamine that prevents the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Histamine can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. It can also close up the bronchial tubes (air passages of the lungs) and make breathing difficult. Histamine can also cause some persons to have hives, with severe itching of the skin.

Xyzal Oral Solution is available only with your doctor's prescription. It is usually taken once a day in the evening, with or without food. Take Xyzal at the same time every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Xyzal exactly as directed.

Before taking Xyzal Oral Solution, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of difficulty urinating or kidney disease and if you are allergic to it, to cetirizine, hydroxyzine or any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. 

Alcohol or marijuana (cannabis) can make you more drowsy. This drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using marijuana (cannabis).

Liquid products may contain sugar and aspartame. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, phenylketonuria (PKU), or any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid these substances in your diet. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this medication safely.
